CEO, Occupational Therapist
Emily has worked with older adults throughout her entire career as an occupational therapist. She has experience in long-term care, acute care and community settings understanding the primary goal of most patients and families is their desire to return home.
Emily experienced first hand the challenges experienced when the home and community are not accessible when her mother became ill at the age of 49. The challenges her family faced are not unlike those many struggle with as they try to avoid long-term care placement.
In 2017, Purposefully Home was founded in an effort to support older adults and their caregivers to feel comfortable, confident, and safe at home.
Emily completed an accelerated program in which she obtained a bachelor’s in therapeutic studies and Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from The Sage Colleges in Troy, NY. She has a passion for serving older adults living with neurological conditions. After working as a clinical occupational therapist, she returned to school to obtain her Doctor of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University in Fort. Lauderdale Florida.
Specializing in community based care is important to Emily. She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Arizona Falls Prevention Coalition, Secretary of the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association and has completed continuing education and certification, including Executive Certificate in Home Modification, Certified Living in Place Professional and is a proud Dementia Friend.
When Emily steps away from work, she is usually on an adventure, locally or in flight. If she isn’t going on a trip, she most likely just returned from one! Creating memories with friends and family is one of the most important parts of life. Emily truly values her motto “Live Your Life with Purpose!”
