Frequently Asked Questions

You're not functioning as a "home health" service, but you still deliver services in the home. I'm confused...?

Medicare provides coverage for both home health services under Part A and outpatient therapy services which can be delivered at a person's home under Part B. Sometimes people refer to this difference as "Mobile Outpatient Therapy" versus "Home Health."  There are some key differences between the two that are important to understand.

Home health services under Medicare Part A are primarily aimed at individuals who are homebound and require skilled nursing care or therapy for a specific illness or injury. These services are typically provided by healthcare professionals.

Mobile outpatient therapy services under Medicare Part B can also be delivered at your home. These services are designed to benefit individuals who do not meet the homebound criteria but still require therapy on an outpatient basis.

It's important to note that both home health services (Part A) and mobile outpatient therapy services (Part B) can be provided in the comfort of your own home. However, the key distinction lies in the specific eligibility criteria and the coverage details under each Medicare part.

In summary, if you are homebound and require skilled nursing care or therapy, you may qualify for home health services under Medicare Part A. If you need therapy but do not meet the homebound criteria, you may be eligible for outpatient therapy services at home under Medicare Part B. Please contact our team or schedule an appointment if you need further clarification or guidance and to determine if you qualify for our services and your payment portion depending on what Medicare plan you are enrolled with.
